You and Us
The Toastmasters International Core Four
values --- integrity, dedication to
excellence, service to the member and
respect for the individual---are alive
and well at the Crown of Laurel
Toastmasters Club. They are well-mixed
with a spirit of fun, fairness and
friendliness. We value generosity of
spirit, dedication to personal
development and team spirit. Our club is
a place to try out leadership approaches
and speaking
styles you may not have tried before.
We are multi-cultural, multi-ethnic and have
diverse members
from nearby Washington, D.C. as well as
from South Korea and Nigeria. We value
friendliness, willingness to help our
fellow members take a step up,
constructive suggestions for change and
encouragement.
Although our learning is self-paced, we ask you to attend regularly. When you are given a learning assignment for a given meeting and discover you cannot keep that assignment, please contact another member to substitute for you.
If you are positively passionate about
Parliamentary procedure or insist on a
club run by formal rules and
regulations, we politely suggest that
you visit a different
Toastmasters club. That is so not us.
Our members learn more when they are
having fun.
On the other hand, if you have a sense of fair play, go with
the flow,
laugh when we are funny and
stick by your friends,
check us out!
